Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Echoral (“the App”) handles information when you use the App on iPhone.

In this Policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Abdulgani Güngör, the developer and operator of Echoral, based in İzmir, Türkiye.

Echoral is a private, on-device memory app. Its purpose is to help you save and revisit life's moments through photos, short clips, places, emotions, notes, people you add, and personal stories. We do not require you to create an Echoral account.

2. Summary

• Your memories stay on your device unless you export a backup file yourself.
• We do not require an Echoral account or password.
• We do not operate a cloud service that stores your memories for us.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use advertising SDKs, and we do not analyze the content of your memories.
• Apple processes Premium payments. RevenueCat is used only to confirm subscription status so Premium can be restored. RevenueCat does not receive your memories, photos, clips, or notes.
• Camera, microphone, photos, location, notifications, and optional music search are used only when you choose those features.

3. What Echoral does

You can save memories with photos or a short video clip, notes, dates, emotion labels, and optional place or person details; view them on a timeline and map; create private Stories, Memory Replay, Time Capsules, Life Chapters, and relationship collections; and keep a local backup file under your control.

Optional music fields let you attach a song title, artist name, or streaming link, or search using Apple's iTunes Search service. You can use the App fully without music. Echoral is not a music streaming service and does not host music files.

Echoral is not a social network. People you add (names, photos, or notes) stay on your device and are not published to other users.

4. Information stored on your device

Depending on how you use the App, the following may be stored locally:

• Memory content you create, such as photos, short clips, notes, dates, emotion labels, titles, and place names.
• People you add to relationship collections, including names and photos you choose.
• Optional music metadata you add, such as song titles, artist names, or streaming links.
• Location details you choose to pin to a memory, if you grant Location permission.
• Story, replay, capsule, chapter, and collection data derived from your memories.
• App preferences, onboarding state, search history, the local 7-day trial, and a local Premium flag.
• Local notification schedules you enable.

We do not receive automatic access to this on-device content. We would only see information you voluntarily send (for example, if you email us and attach files).

5. Permissions

Photos. Used so you can choose photos or short videos from your library to keep with a memory. The App does not upload your photo library to our servers.

Camera. Used only when you take a photo or record a short clip (about 5 seconds) for a memory.

Microphone. Used only when a clip is recorded with sound. You may deny microphone access and still save a silent clip or a photo.

Location (When In Use). Used only to pin memories to places and resolve place names when you choose those features. You may deny Location permission and continue without location features.

Notifications. Used for local reminders you enable in the App. The App does not send remote push notifications from our servers.

6. Network requests and third parties

Certain features require internet access:

• Optional music search and previews — if you search for a song, your search term may be sent to Apple's iTunes Search service. Short previews, when available, use media URLs from that service.
• Maps — map display and place lookups use Apple MapKit / Apple Maps.
• Purchases — Premium is billed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
• Subscription status (RevenueCat) — when the App is configured with RevenueCat, Echoral uses RevenueCat to confirm whether your Apple subscription is active so Premium can unlock and restore. RevenueCat may receive an anonymous app user identifier, a device identifier, and purchase history for that purpose. It does not receive memory content. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

7. Backups and restore

If you use Keep a Copy or Backup in the App, a .cebackup file is created on your device. That file stays under your control. Echoral does not upload it to our servers.

Deleting and reinstalling the App does not restore memories by itself. To restore, open Settings → Backup & Restore and choose your .cebackup file. If the file is in iCloud Drive, you can restore on another iPhone you control.

If you set up a new iPhone with Quick Start or restore from an iCloud device backup, Apple may copy App data according to your device settings. That is Apple's backup, not an Echoral cloud account.

8. Free trial and Premium

A 7-day free trial may be started and recorded locally on your device. It is not an Apple introductory offer and does not require payment information.

Purchasing Premium is handled by Apple. Echoral uses RevenueCat only to read subscription status after Apple processes the payment. Starting, ending, or purchasing Premium does not delete your memories.

9. Retention and deletion

Your memories remain on your device until you delete them in the App, delete the App, or erase the device. Because we do not host your memories, we generally cannot remotely delete or restore them for you.

If you contact us by email, we keep that correspondence as needed to respond, then delete it when it is no longer required.

10. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Tracking and advertising

We do not track you across apps or websites for advertising. We do not use the App Tracking Transparency prompt for ads. We do not use advertising SDKs. RevenueCat is not used to show ads or to profile your memories.

12. International processing

On-device memory data remains on your device. Requests to Apple may be processed where Apple operates. RevenueCat may process subscription-status data in the United States and other locations described in its policy.

13. Your choices

You can deny Photos, Camera, Microphone, Location, or Notifications in iOS Settings and still use the rest of the App. You can stop optional music search by not using it. You can manage or cancel Premium in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Because memories are on your device, we cannot export or delete them from our side. You control them in the App and through your backups.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date and make the updated Policy available here and in the App.
